The Wee Folks Dreaming Of Spring.

Such a long, seemingly never ending winter.  The wee folks in their magical garden, looked for the signs that promised spring.  Then the snow doth cometh again.  And again.

What to make of it all.  Tiny snowdrop flowers, ready to emerge, sleeping once more under heaps of snow.
Oh how they dreamed of previous springs.  A time of joy, the rebirth that the spring doth offer.   And yet, despite the cold, despite the snow, they held onto the dream.
They cast their thoughts to the coming times when the sun kissed the horizon in a slowly fading farewell.  Shafts of light, once more, would glow upon the blossoms of pink and the joyous faces of the wee folks.

The wee folks dreaming of spring in the northern part of this fragile planet.  Time for renewal.  With the new spring, brings a new hope from the wee folks that humanity can learn lessons from their all different, all equal world.  A world where no stigma is attached and we celebrate diversity.

  1. The wee folks down here don't have to worry about snow. I used to live up north in Pennsylvania and then for a short time in Michigan, and your picture of snow brings back memories of it. I always liked snow, but not the mess after it melts.

    1. Hey Dizzy Dick,

Your wee folks wont be needing extra heating for their mushroom houses, I guess. Ah yes, Pennsylvania and that pesky groundhog lives there. Michigan, where y'all get your American vehicles from. Glad the snowy photo brought back memories. The slush on the car after the snow has just about gone, makes for a real dirty looking car.

Y'all have a nice day. You hear?

    1. Hi Murr,

Yes you do. I've been to Oregon and I saw them playing outside a liquor store in Eugene. The banana slugs go well with ice cream.

  3. Hi Gary .. to think those wee folks were wondering where their water was coming from a year ago and we were basking (or should that be 'boiling') in temperatures at 18 deg C ... with the threat of a major drought ahead ...

We had a freezing night .. the snow is still around, but the sun is up and out attempting to make inroads on the icy conditions ...

Spring is coming - but these seasons do their own things now-a-days ... let's hope that's the last of winter for 2013 ... we could do with an easy seasonal year ...

Cheers to your gnomes and to Penny ... enjoy that sunshine - Hilary

    1. Hi Hilary,

I shall try commenting again. Darned comment vanished. I also recall that after they announced a drought, it rain incessantly after that.

I thought it was getting warmer today. Having just looked out the window at the icy roads, I might well be wrong.

Let's hope that this summer is more than just the warmer part of winter.

Cheers to you from the wee folks, Penny and this alleged human :)

  12. It's not even 7 AM and I'm still late. Wee Folks, I'm wondering the same thing. Where's spring!!! It's snowing, and more snowing is due tonight. But change is on the way. Our new realtor stopped by yesterday. Praying me and my DH list the house and sell before the apples fall from the trees. Happy Wednesday, Gary! Hugs to Penny.

    1. Hi Joylene,

There are rumours that this be the final winter encore. The sun will shine, the flowers will bloom and you two will, before the apples fall, see the "Sold" word upon thine sign. You will reminisce and smile. Happy Thursday. Time zones, eh.

Penny sends back hugs to you, Joylene.

  15. Spring is still a way off I am afraid Gary! That's what the forecasters say anyway. I, too am longing for that feeling of warmth on my face and on my back, I know that it will come and when it does it will fill everything with hope. A new life is just around the corner.

    1. Hi John,

It does seem a ways off. Then again, you know how wrong forecasters can be. We might think of those days ahead where we can really get out there and immerse ourselves in the wonders of spring and yes, a new hope. A new life just around the corner and the eventual removal of this inhumane government.

Peace, hope and spring thoughts, your way, John.

  23. I do believe that those wee folk are having a wonderful time in all that snow. Here is Victoria we didn't even see a flake this year. Usually we have at least one day!!! Now the Cherry Blossoms and snow drops are blooming which is so very beautiful to see while out walking. I'm sending you some springtime energy to melt all that snow, so your special friends can dance in the colors of spring!!! I always enjoy coming for a visit to your wonderful blog.

    1. Hey Suzanne,

They had a great time in the snow. Just caught them and me, a bit by surprise that just when we thought the snow had gone, it came back again and again and..I've noticed several 'flakes' around where I live and I don't mean snow, eh. Yes, Victoria usually has the one day of snow and slush the next day :)

Oh yeah, those pink cherry blossoms. Gorgeous sight and the 'pink snow' they drop on the ground. Me thinks your springtime energy has melted the snow! Yay, eh! :)

You are very kind with such a compliment. Thank you, Suzanne.
